Help us make the Hibakusha's wish a reality

Become a 75 Champion

ICAN isn’t one person — we are a movement spread across 100 countries with a single goal: the total elimination of nuclear weapons. As we commemorate the 75th anniversary of the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, we need committed, long term supporters to honour their victims through concrete actions.

Ahead of 6th August, we are looking for 75 people to make a commitment of donating $75 per month and 75 people to give $7 per month in response to the call of the survivors of Hiroshima and Nagasaki.

This group of 75 Champions will be acknowledged in ICAN's annual report and receive specific updates on the progress we make towards entry into force.

Will you be one of these champions that rise to challenge and stand with the Hibakusha?

Why a recurring donation?

A recurring donation is one of the most impactful actions you can make to ensure progress. At a time when governments are decreasing funding for civil society and the richest, most powerful countries are trying to stop us, nuclear disarmament activists relies on committed individuals like you to step up and help us challenge the nuclear-armed states.

A monthly gift provides the stability ICAN depend on to continue changing norms, laws and public opinion.

Any donation will be valuable and useful for our work, it helps us start a specific project or activity. If you prefer a one-off donation, we warmly welcome that too. But with a monthly donation, you can provide more stable and predictable funding that will help us engage in long-term strategies to steadily increasing pressure on all nuclear armed and nuclear endorsing states.

What impact does a donation have?

In 2017, we won the Nobel Peace Prize for our work to get governments to negotiate the Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons. Since then, we are working tirelessly around the clock to get countries to sign and ratify the Treaty, and to raise awareness of the catastrophic humanitarian consequences of nuclear weapons.

We need 50 ratifications for nuclear weapons to officially become prohibited under international law. By making a donation to ICAN’s work on the 75th anniversary of the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, you can help make a historic moment happen - the moment nuclear weapons become illegal.
