By taking this pledge, you’ll be joining the Hibakusha and the worldwide movement in pushing to end nuclear weapons. You'll be using your voice to demand that these weapons are banned and eliminated for good. 

Here's how our work is structured. ICAN is made up of over 570 organisations in 104 countries that are working consistently and strategically to change policies and get governments to ban and eliminate nuclear weapons. These amazing, passionate, and smart campaigners have the skills and the strategy to win this fight, but they need more public support to amplify their demands and their work. That's where you and this pledge come in. 

Each person that amplifies and supports our work will push the world a bit closer to ending nuclear weapons for good. Through signing the pledge, you will find out what small steps you can take to support the activists that are doing the long term work to change government policy. With a combination of smart advocacy work by ICAN's partner organisations around the world and public pressure through you and your friends, we will get more governments to join the Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons and make nuclear weapons illegal. 

75 years after the horrific attacks on Hiroshima and Nagasaki we are closer than ever to our next big win: getting 50 governments to ratify the Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons and make nuclear weapons illegal under international law. We're so close (check out the current number of ratified countries here), we think we can get to 50 by the end of this year.
